New Name, Same Old Penchant Quality and Innovation

Inquirer 8/6/2008

Its name may have changed but the tradition for building communities in top quality and innovative residences remains the same.

For Alveo Land Corp., the real estate company formerly known as Community Innovations, transforming a piece of land into a residential ecosystem is of utmost importance. This is especially true today when an address is no longer just a house but a residence that indicates the kind of life people lead.

Rare are real estate companies that go beyond talk of square meters in a society with a rapidly developing taste for new urbanism. Alveo Land, an Ayala Land subsidiary, is one of them.

Its mastery and expertise in its six years of operation brings real estate development to a whole new level.

"We always plan for the future," said Alveo Land president Dante M. Abando. "The ever expanding and changing nature of the industry dictates the need for us to respond to the market by merging our real estate mastery with lifestyle ideas."

Abando said it was "time to change their name to something that reaches a wider aspect of living." Taking its cue from Alveo's Latin root word "Salveo" meaning, "to be well," the relaunched company promises to continue providing innovative homes for a good life that every one deserves.

Among Alveo's projects include Two Serendra in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig; the Marquee Place in Angeles City, Pampanga -- the first Ayala Land development in the North that is integrated with an Ayala Mall; Treveia in Nuvali, Ayala Land's new metropolis in the Canlubang, Laguna, area; and its maiden project, the Verdana Homes in Bacoor, Cavite.

There's also its more recent high-rise condominium developments such as Senta in Legazpi Village; The Columns Legazpi Village; and The Columns Ayala Avenue; all located in Makati City.

These establishments, along with Alveo's other developments, have helped the company earn an astounding P15 billion in sales revenue since its inception in 2002-proof of people's trust and satisfaction to their developments.

In 2007, Community Innovations posted P4.8 billion, its highest earnings in history so far. It represents almost a third of the company's six-year accumulated revenue. This translates to 53 percent growth from its 2006 earnings of P3.1 billion.

"I am very pleased that our business grew significantly," Abando said, attributing their success to their philosophy of centering on people's needs."

Alveo's strong performance is partly due to its projects strategic locations that has allowed its residents to go home from work in five minutes; have a complete workout in their own compound; breathe in fresh air in the middle of the city; and let their children play on secured grounds.

This is their answer to the market's clamor for a haven that has it all. "We're concerned about what we call 'life ecosystems.' It's a deliberate and all-encompassing approach that takes into account the familial, social, physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the market," he said.

"Every time we conceptualize a new community, we think about what's lacking in our market's lifestyle. From there, we roll up our sleeves and think of something new to offer them. This propensity toinnovate has propelled the company to where it is today," he said.

At the end of the day, the question that matters is if they had created a positive impact on the lives of the real people who decided to invest in their properties, Abando said.

To ensure uncompromised living condition, Alveo made sure every thing they put up is cemented in solid foundation-literally and figuratively. The company employs the most stringent standards-such as wind tunnel tests-to guarantee that their developments over time can withstand harsh circumstances like strong typhoons and earthquakes.

As Alveo moves forward, it brings its neighboring communities along with it. "Alveo communities belong to larger ones. While we have a responsibility to our own developments, we also recognize the fact that we should enrich communities that host us," explained Abando.

At present, the company's completed developments are home to about 4,000 families-a concrete evidence of Alveo's gleaming track record in sales.

Alveo Land is also one with the world in protecting and saving the environment. While taking care of its surroundings have always been in its DNA, Alveo is now taking a more proactive stance.

An example is the use of cross ventilation in The Columns Ayala Avenue that lowers the dependency for artificial air conditioning. Trevia, on the other hand, utilizes green philosophies in architecture and design. Senta and Two Serendra are now sporting "green roofs."

Abando said Alveo will continue to charter vibrant and dynamic communities with sharper foresight and total commitment to their market's needs.

He said: "It is very rare for companies to look back when moving forward. But Alveo Land will be propelled with the same mastery of craft to seize this new era in real estate development."
